Sternico - a success story
Sternico has been developing innovative software solutions for the railway industry for more than 20 years. Originally started as Sternico Elektronik GmbH, the company initially focussed on contract work, right through to electronic components for amusement rides.
In 2009, there was a devastating railway accident in Viareggio with several fatalities and injuries. The cause was a crack in a wheel that was not discovered during the overhaul. This was the birth of the COMAP software, which ensures that processes between all parties involved in maintenance are fully digitalised.
Thanks to the expertise and experience of all our colleagues, Sternico has developed into a powerful partner for companies worldwide. From medium-sized companies to international corporations in various sectors such as rail, transport and maintenance, they rely on Sternico’s software solutions.
In addition to the software products, Sternico also offers extensive services. This involves advising and supporting customers in the introduction and implementation of software solutions and in the realisation of their IT development projects. From IT project management and the development of customised software solutions to the training of employees and the maintenance of IT systems, Sternico is at its customers’ side.

RAILBASE is used worldwide as the leading cloud platform for maintenance and fleet management. DISPOLINO, with its functions for railway operations and scheduling, has been successfully integrated into RAILBASE. Our customers therefore benefit from an end-to-end platform in which they can map all processes. A network of specialised sales and integration partners ensures the worldwide rollout of RAILBASE.
We are an established service provider for hardware and software engineering. With our deep understanding of the entire railway system, we find pragmatic solutions for our customers’ complex tasks. This makes us a holistic solution provider that combines knowledge from the product business with skills from hardware and software engineering.
